This thrilling metropolis provides the backdrop for Neon Moon, our newest luxury Parfum. Like the city that inspired it, Neon Moon celebrates the beauty in contradiction – a warm, luscious floral with a hint of smoke and spice. It was created in partnership with renowned perfumer Frank Voelkl, marking a sophisticated new era for LUMIRA.
“Tokyo is a city like no other – it embraces a futuristic blend of pop culture and technology, but retains a beautiful connection to its traditions and culture,” says founder and creative director Almira Armstrong. “I was delighted to work with Frank Voelkl at DSM-Firmenich to convey the essence of this remarkable city. Frank is known for his deep understanding of the emotional power of fragrance, a sentiment that resonates with my own approach, and he was able to interpret the energy of Tokyo with the right combination of youthfulness and sophistication.”
Exploring the notes in Neon Moon
Opening with the sparkling note of apricot blossom – our homage to Tokyo’s exquisite gardens in full bloom – Neon Moon instantly captures the exhilarating undercurrent of the city. The crescendo builds with lively Pink Pepper and nectarous Honeysuckle, before settling into a sensual dry-down of White Amber, Sandalwood and Cedarwood.
“I love to work with woody notes to add a textured sensuality and depth to my creations,” says Frank Voelkl. “For Neon Moon I used an Australian Sandalwood combined with Cedarwood and White Amber. I chose fresh spices and hints of light fruits to contrast this warmth with luminosity and brightness.”
Sustainability at its heart
Neon Moon is made using Green Chemistry, a set of processes that minimise waste, pollution and harm to the environment across the whole lifecycle of the product. It features six up-cycled ingredients, including sustainably sourced American Cedarwood and Cinnamon from Sri Lanka; the Australian sandalwood that lends the fragrance its lasting power and depth is sourced through sustainable and ethical practices.
As with all LUMIRA fragrances, Neon Moon is vegan and free from parabens and sulphates.
