A Life With Scent

LUMIRA Travels: Australia

To celebrate the launch of our newest scent, Terra Australis, we explore some of our favourite destinations across Australia. From the coast to the bush, here’s where to stay and what to do.

Sal Salis Ningaloo Reef

Western Australia

Stay: Sal Salis Ningaloo Reef

Set among the sand dunes of the Cape Range National Park near Exmouth, Sal Salis Ningaloo Reef puts a thoroughly luxurious spin on beach camping. The eco-luxe tents offer unparalleled views through to the ocean; you’ll want to climb into one of the hammocks and never leave.

Do: Swim in the ocean and explore the extraordinary natural treasures of the Ningaloo Reef, which is home to more than 500 species of fish and 250 different types of coral. Or head inland for a hike through Cape Range National Park.

Bangalay VillasNew South Wales

Stay: Bangalay Luxury Villas

This complex on the NSW south coast features two holiday houses and 16 luxury villas to accommodate groups of all sizes. The views – to the beach, gardens or the golf course – are unrivalled and the pace is gentle, making this the ideal place to recharge.

Do: If you’re feeling active, explore the nearby towns of Berry, Kiama and Kangaroo Valley, or take in a round at the on-site golf course. Simply want to relax? Some of the whitest sand in Australia can be found on the beach just footsteps away.

Jackalope Hotels

Victoria

Stay: Jackalope Hotel

This fantastical art-filled hotel references its Mornington Peninsula surroundings in multiple ways. An awe-inspiring 10,000-lightbulb installation was inspired by the region’s winemaking heritage and the bubbles that form during the fermentation process. Local artists have created other pieces across the property, and the two hatted restaurants on site source as much as possible from producers and growers nearby.

Do: Relax and indulge. Between the incredible food and wine and the world-class art, Jackalope is the place to go for a truly hedonistic escape.

Kittawa Lodge

Tasmania

Stay: Kittawa Lodge

Located on King Island, Kittawa Lodge is just a short hop from the Tasmanian mainland but is truly a world away. Every room in the two lodges boasts sweeping views across Bass Strait, showcasing the wild beauty of this spectacular landscape.

Do: Explore the windswept natural beauty of King Island and sample some of its finest local produce, including cheese, seafood and beef.

For more luxurious destinations around Australia, explore our profiles on Emirates One & Only Wolgan Valley, Halcyon House and Lord Howe Island’s Island House.
