A Life With Scent

Celebrating Sydney

Sydney Opera House

Global travel is an eternal inspiration for us at LUMIRA, but with Sydney and other parts of NSW impacted by the pandemic once again, we’re staying close to home. Like millions of Sydneysiders, we hate to see our beloved hometown in lockdown, so are taking this time to celebrate the best our region has to offer in the way we know best – through scent.

These four fragrances are all inspired by Sydney and its surrounding areas and fuel our daydreams of exploring our local vicinity once again. All of them are perfectly complemented by this playlist, our musical tribute to Sydney.

A coastal escape

Our newest scent – a collaboration with the luxurious Bells at Killcare – merges coast and country with the utmost sophistication. Located just north of Sydney, Bells is known for its immaculate gardens and pristine local beaches. The Wild Flower Candle captures this natural beauty with top notes of sea salt and eucalyptus evolving into a floral bouquet of geranium, lavender and ylang ylang.

An urban adventure

The gritty past of inner-city Surry Hills – where artists’ studios shared a neighbourhood with fashion houses and underworld types alike – was the starting point for No. 325 Leather & Cedar. This opulent and sensual fragrance features a warm and complex blend of French leather, leather and spice. Find it in the Candle and the Perfume Oil.

The great open road

Our ode to the Australian bush, Terra Australis Candle juxtaposes the majesty of the earth – ancient and grounding – with the ephemerality of a wisp of smoke. A clutch of native herbs adds a light aromatic touch.

Cocktails in the garden

Created in partnership with our friends at Grown Spirits, the Tonic of Gin Candle is reminiscent of a summer evening in the garden, with our favourite cocktail in hand. The subtle aromatic notes of Grown Spirits’ awards-winning gin are amplified by a heady mix of orange blossom, jasmine and white flowers – the perfect recipe for a balmy evening spent outdoors with friends.
