Celebrating 10 Years
LUMIRA was founded in 2013 as a niche luxury candle brand lovingly handmade in the Sydney kitchen of our founder Almira Armstrong. In the decade since, we’ve slowly and deliberately expanded our range of luxury scents from a core collection of four candles to a holistic fragrance offering for home and personal use.
Each of our products is defined by an invitation to escape through scent, evoking a faraway place or encouraging a renewed frame of mind. Our quest is to not only reflect the beauty of a locale but also to capture the essence of how a destination makes us feel, merging representation with emotion to create something truly magical.
As we reflect on our first 10 years and prepare for the next, we offer our sincere thanks to you, our valued community, for your ongoing support. It truly does mean the world to us that we can provide a portal through which you can escape through scent.
2013
LUMIRA launches in Sydney, Australia, with four candles, including Tuscan Fig and Persian Rose.
2018
A three-year partnership commences with the Royal Botanic Gardens in Sydney, with proceeds donated to the Garden’s research and conservation work.
2019
The luxury parfum collection launches, introducing two brand new scents, Soleil du Maroc and Desert Nights.
2021
We’re proud to partner with Sedex, one of the world’s leading platforms to improve working conditions in global supply chains.
2023
Our flagship boutique opens in the heart of Sydney’s fragrance and fashion precinct on Oxford Street, Paddington.
